SUMMARY:Astrophotography for beginners with Keith Molloy
DESCRIPTION:We’re hosting a tutorial on astrophotography. This will be run by the local astrophotographer Keith Molloy. \nThe cost will be $80 for members of the general public and $60 for Wellington Photographic Society members. Numbers are limited to 35 so get in quick. \nThe format for the day will be an indoor tutorial run by Keith followed by a practical session on the south coast that evening. The level will be targeted at both beginners and those looking to improve their skills. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about astrophotography. \nWe will have an alternate day for the practical session if the weather is not playing ball on the day. \nIf you want to know more about Keith then here is some information: \nI first took up photography about 30 years ago but became interested in astrophotography about 7 years ago. \nI enjoy photographing the Wellington region at night but I also get out to shoot the dark skies in the Wairarapa and further afield whenever I can. I love finding new interesting foregrounds to feature along with the night skies. \nI set up the Wellington Night Shooters Facebook group in 2021 which runs night photography meetups throughout the year and I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others.
