Clive Pigott – Alternative Printing Processes
April 11 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Clive Pigott – Alternative Printing Processes. Thursday 11th April, Tararua Tramping Club, 7pm
About Clive:
I’ve been making photographs since I was 12. I’m now 58.
I am not a naturally talented photographer. My eye didn’t really improve until I was in my 40’s and only after I had adopted digital. Until then successful images were hit and miss.
I’d say generally my images are simple but deliberate. I aim to have enough in them for the viewer to take a longer look (but then don’t we all want that?).
I’d probably say I’ve been on a journey with photography over the years. It has definitely, been a journey of great fun and reward, as I have got better at converting my images into prints using alternative processes: Cyanotype (with/without botanical toning), 4-colour Gum bichromate, and Anthotype.
In my talk I’ll tell you about these processes and why I like them, I’ll show you some of the successes and failures (and hence why it is still a journey), and I’ll give you some tips for getting started.
