DESCRIPTION:Imagine you could keep your eyes open for a certain amount of time and capture everything you’re seeing in just one image – wouldn’t that be nice? That’s exactly how long exposure photography works; instead of “freezing” time\, the idea is to capture everything that happens while the shutter is open. \nThis is a quick online theory session giving you a starter guide to this popular form of photography. \nYou’ll learn how to use ND filters to master the visual effects they can create\, like making the water look like glass and clouds streak in the sky. You’ll also learn how to use long exposures to create stunning night photography and how to make light trails. \nOnce you’ve learnt how to master the visual effects with your camera\, we’ll then teach you how to post-process the shots to ensure you get results. \nThis event will be hosted online on Zoom\nThe Zoom link for this session is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85373132828

DESCRIPTION:21st April @ 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is the WPS Annual Competition for Projected Images which is open to all members of the society and is a great chance to share your work with other club members.\n \nThis is the WPS Annual Competition for Projected Images which is open to all members of the society and is a great chance to share your work with other club members.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nZoom Link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/88360569006 \nJudging will be presented on the 21st April\, from just after 7pm. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nEntry\n\nCategory: Open\nEntries Close: 14th of April 2022 (Entries are limited to 2 per member)\nEach member can submit up to two images.\nEntries should be sent to comms@wps.org.nz by midnight\, 14th of April 2022.\nFile Specs: Full resolution under 5MB\nFile naming: Number_First name\, Last Name\, Title (if any)\nColour Mode: RGB colour mode (not Grayscale)\nBit Depth: 8 bits/Channel\nColour Space: SRGB\nJPEG Format: Baseline (“Standard”)\nYour membership (Member Fees) must be up to date to enter this or other WPS competitions.\n\nFile Naming\nTo avoid mixing up each members files\, each image should have a clear file naming structure. It just allows us to keep better track of the images. \n\nNumber_FirstName_Surname_Title.jpg\n\nEntry Rules\n\nAll elements must be the work of (or have been created by) the photographer (entrant).\nThe use of stock photography\, computer-rendered or third party content (including skies\, borders or textures) is prohibited. \nAll content and images must be from original exposures made within 24 months of the entry closing date. This includes all composite elements of an image\, such as backgrounds\, skies\, textures and borders.\nImages captured\, retouched\, digitally edited or printed over the duration of a workshop\, seminar\, tutorial\, or similar\, where the primary focus is for education\, are ineligible\, irrespective of whether it was under the direct instruction of the presenter or not. This rule only applies to attendees of workshops\, tutorials and educational/training events. Instructors\, students\, emerging members\, and attendees of photo-tours where the primary focus is not educational\, are not restricted. If you have any questions\, regarding the entry or the rules please let us know. Exemptions may be granted in cases of sickness/extenuating circumstances (This will be on a case by case basis)\n\nMeeting opens at 7:00pm\, presentation likely to start from 7.15. \n\n\n\n\n
