Join fellow WPS photographers this Thursday at Santeria Pizza and Pasta on Cuba St for a chance to shoot some reflections\, street photography and the city at night. \n\n\nWhen? Thursday June 9th\, 2022\nWhat time? 6:00 – 8:00 PM\nMeeting Point: Santeria Pizza and Pasta on Cuba St\nWhat’s the plan? Take night photos\, and photos featuring rain\, light and reflections and make new friends.\nWhat about the weather? It’s likely to rain\, but that is part of appeal of this meetup!\nWho can come? All levels welcome. All cameras welcome. All people welcome.\nIs it free? Yes\n\nWe will mostly stay in the area around Cuba St\, Manners Mall. You’ve come to the right place. \nThis meeting precedes a meetup for the Matariki Fireworks Celebration on Friday the 24th of June. \nIn this meeting\, we will go over some techniques and tips to shooting fireworks and show off some member images. Hopefully by the time you’ve finished this meeting\, you’ll be ready to capture gorgeous images like an absolute pro. \nWhat we’ll go over in the meeting \n\nThe best settings for firework photography\nEssential firework photo gear\nA simple way to prevent image blur\nMuch more!\n\nMid-Winter Xmas\nYou’re invited to join us on Thursday\, 24th of June at 7:00pm for our Fireworks & Mid-Winter Xmas at the Tararua Tramping Club. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn addition to the fireworks presentation\, there will be some festive frivolities such as a festive photography quiz some food and drinks.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSwap Meet:\nIf you have a closet full of photography stuff that never gets used? Then this might be your opportunity to get rid of those items and make a few bucks. All you have to do is bring along your gear and name a price.\n\n\n\nDrinks will be provided and we ask that you bring a plate of food to share. Doors open from 7:00pm

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the Māori New Year with a stunning fireworks display on Friday 24 June\, the first-ever Matariki public holiday!\nThe fireworks will be let off within Wellington Harbour\, at 7.15pm and last for approximately ten minutes.\n\nThis meet-up will follow a theory session at the Tararua Tramping Club the day before. Make sure to attend this session to get the best out of the meet-up.\n\nLocations: Still to be determined. Suggestions are welcome.\nDate: Friday 24th June (postponement dates 25th or 26th June – keep an eye on the council webpage for postponement details: wellington.govt.nz/matariki)\nTime: Gather at 6.45 to allow time to get set-up and have a chat first\n\nThis event is weather permitting.
