Interclub 2024

The Wellington Interclub Print Battle is held every year with Wellington regional clubs and clubs from the Lower North Island taking turns at hosting and doing battle over the ten print topics.

Background about the Competition:
Each year, photography clubs from across the Wellington region/Lower North Island come together to compete for bragging rights. The hosting club chooses 10 topics/subjects at the start of the year and then the clubs come together towards the end of the year to compete with their best prints across those subjects.

These topics for this year were chosen by the members of our society.

Friday Afternoon (1st Dec) – Intercontinental Hotel 5.00-5.30pm
Drop-off is at the hotel’s bar, which is just to the right inside the main entrance on Grey St

Saturday Morning (2nd Dec)
We will also do an alternate drop-off on Saturday afternoon for those who can’t make Friday. This will be in Island Bay at the Bluebell Cafe from 10am – 11am

There will be two main opportunities to drop prints off, this Thursday’s meeting (23rd November) and a separate drop off the following week (we are yet to pick a date/time). But it’s likely to be Thursday or Friday in the city.

This year’s print competition will be held on the 8th of December.

Full Competition details:

  • 8th of December @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
  • Categories are: Open | Black and White
  • New Closing Date for Entries: On or before the 10th of November (midnight)
  • Presentation Night: 8th of December 2022 at the TTC Club Rooms

Technical skill doesn’t necessarily guarantee a place in the top 3, but a good eye and submitting a photo deftly encapsulates the theme will take you far.

The Club has been concerned that users of its facility adopt appropriate safety protocols to ensure the safety of all users and to prevent the transmission of the Covid 19 virus.
The concept of a suitable protocol was outlined at the Society AGM on 13 November 2021 and endorsed by a resolution of the meeting.
