Marty Melville – Photo Journalism & Sports Photography

Marty Melville based in Wellington is an award-winning Photo/video journalist who freelances to some of the largest and oldest news/photo agencies in the world today. AFP, AP, Getty Images, AAP, NZME and Photosport NZ

He has freelanced to AFP (Agency France Press) for 13 years and has covered events such as Pike River, the Christchurch earthquake, World Cups, White Island, and many other events.
Photosport New Zealand has been a client for 23 years and has covered the Olympics, All Blacks tours, and many other sporting events both in New Zealand and overseas.

His passion for photography started when he was 7 years old getting his first front newspaper page when he was 15. For the last 25 years, Marty has been
fully committed to producing images that have been run in most of the major international publications as well as here in New Zealand.

He covers all editorial work encompassing news, sports, PR, events conferences and Architectural and corporate work and anything else thrown at him.

Sports Photography: Hagen Hopkins (June 28)

Hagen is a Wellington based photographer whose passion for photography began when he first ventured overseas. On his return to New Zealand, Hagen worked in camera departments in the film and television industry for two years before eventually leaning back towards stills photography.

Since completing his photography studies, Hagen has worked in staff positions at Photosport in Auckland and Sun Media in Alberta, Canada.
