Submission Guidelines
Showcase your work and tell your story in Impact! magazine.
Thank you for your interest in submitting an article. In order to ensure the quality of our newsletter, the following guidelines have been compiled for those making a contribution. If you have any questions or comments regarding these guidelines, direct them to the editor at wpsimpact@gmail.com
Things to follow when submitting an article:
- Completed article must be original, well-written. Although we are happy to assist with proof-reading etc
- Submit article in Microsoft Word document format (.doc or .docx) only.
- Limit article to about 500 words.
- Regardless of submission style, all articles will post in the same format (Open Sans, size 10).
- If images are included, submit in jpg format only.
Article/Image Requirements
- Images should be Full Resolution but under 5mb in size
- File should be named with your name and title you mentioned in the form. For example, Tony.Soprano.TrainStation.jpg
- Image should not contain a watermark
Article title and author information:
- Include an appropriate and informative title for article.
- Include the author’s name.
- A links to the Author’s Website/Instagram/Work
Language:
- Do not use profanity.
- Avoid biased or derogatory language.
- Avoid slang.
The subject matter of submitted articles must be appropriate in language and content for a wide audience.
Submitting an article gives The Wellington Photographic Society the rights to publish and edit, if needed. Articles may be edited but we aim to keep any editing as light touch as possible. We will edit for sense, grammar and, where necessary, length. Our editors will also write (and may rewrite) headlines. The date an article is published will be determined by the editor.
