James Gilberd (Photospace Gallery) – Curating an Image Selection
September 26 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The talk is all about curating a selection of images for your own exhibitions and photobooks. James has decades of experience in this area and should have some great insights for everyone.
James Gilberd opened Photospace Gallery in December 1998 and has hosted hundreds of exhibitions of photography since then, mainly by NZ-based photographers.
The gallery is propped up financially by his professional photography work, which includes running courses and workshops, photo studio and darkroom hire, commercial photography, and taking nice-looking passport photos. He studied photography at Wellington Polytech in 1987 and went back there to do a photography degree in the early 1990s.
