Wellington Interclub 2019
Wellington Region Interclub Print Battle
Now is the time for WPS photographers to submit images for the Society entry into this popular interclub event. Each year the clubs in the area submit their best prints covering ten different topics for the bragging rights of being the best overall club in the region. The event this year is being hosted by the Kapiti Coast Camera Club and the judging will take place at the Otaihanga Boating Club Hall, 19 Makora Road Otaihanga on Monday 23 September 2019, starting at 7.30pm.
It’s always a fun evening so mark this date in your diaries now.
More importantly, it’s time to get your cameras out and start taking shots around the following ten topics for 2019.
- Just being kids
- Light Effects
- Nature’s finest
- Night in the city
- A matter of perspective
- Impressionist
- An unlikely combination
- Social interaction 21st Century style
- Fast or slow
- An image that reflects this quotation from Janet Frame “The End”
Up is heaven, down is ocean,
or, more simply, sea and sky rivalling in welcome.
In order to select our club images for the entry they must be submitted by midnight Friday 23 August 2019. Digital images are acceptable at this stage, but prints are fine also. The plan is, once the club entries are chosen, we will arrange for the printing and matting.
Rather than leave everything to the last minute, we suggest you split the categories in three and submit one third by 23 June, one third by 23 July and the remainder by the closing date.
Images should be sent to competitions@wps.org.nz and the title should show both your name and the topic. Max file size 5MB
Submission Deadline: 23 August 2019 – this will give the selection panel time to assess and to have the 10 prints and matts ready for the competition.
