Annual Exhibition: Deadlines & Specs
Initially electronic entries should be sent to competitions@wps.org.nz by that time (midnight, 25 October 2018).
They should be clearly labelled with the word exhibition, the photographer’s name and the title of the work.should be clearly labelled as indicated below
- I.e ‘Exhibition.Firstname.Lastname.Title’.
- Max file size: 5mb
If you have already printed your image, please bring the print to the meeting at the Tararua Tramping Club on the 25th.
Because of limited hanging space, entries are limited to a maximum of two per member. The Selection committee will meet over the weekend and choose the best of a representative range of images from our members. It may also invite members who have submitted images during the year to allow their images to be included in the exhibition.
Following selection, images will need to be printed and matted. Prints need to be matted to fit a standard 20” x 16” frame. You are welcome to do this yourself if you have the facilities to do so. Wellington Photographic Supplies is able to provide prints for you at half price.
Suggested Matting Dimensions
The club has a limited number of mattes that it can provide if required. If you allow a margin of 2.5” on three sides and 3” at the bottom, a standard matte will fit an image approximately 15” x 10.5” for a landscape format or 14.5” x 11” for a portrait format. Allow a little extra so the matte covers the edges of your print.
The timeframe for printing and matting is very tight as we need the prints to us by Thursday 1 November to add to the frames and hang for the opening the following day.
