AGM 2017

WPS AGM 2017

AGM News 2017

The club’s AGM was held on 10 August 2017 and resulted in some changes to the Committee, following the retirement of Gail Teale as President and the decisions of Hilary Troup and Thomas Zink not to seek reelection as Secretary and Treasurer respectively.
The new President is Glen Innes, who joined the club on returning to Wellington in 2016.  His previous club involvement has been in the South Island with the Nature Photographic Society and the Fairlie Camera Club.

WPS Takes 2nd Place in Wellington Interclub Battle

Congratulations to the Hutt Camera Club who won the 2016 Wellington Interclub Battle. WPS gave them a good chase right to the finish line but in the end HCC lead with a 2 point advantage.

Thanks to APPS for organising a great event and Helen Mitchell for judging such an exciting competition.

Well done to all the WPS photographers who provided the ten images and especially to Ian McIlraith and Dave Roberts whose prints got first place in their respective categories.

As usual, it was a fun evening of good club rivalry and socialising.

Craig Potton Photography Workshop in Wellington

Hello,

I’m a volunteer with the Wellington branch of the Green Party. We’re running a fundraising event later this month that I think will be really interesting to you and your photography students. It’s an afternoon workshop with Craig Potton on Saturday 23rd May.

He’s in town for a short time only, and has offered to hold an intimate session (only 20 places available) where he will give illustrative talks on the art of photography, how to improve your photography and working with photography’s limitations. Participants are invited to bring their two best works (on a data stick) for critique.

There’s more information here: https://my.greens.org.nz/shop/craig-potton-workshop-wellington

I wonder whether you would be able to send this information out to your contact lists, or put it up on your website or facebook page?

Thank you,

Lotte Blair
